Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.

Marietta is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Marietta is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Georgia's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

First thing first, they close soon in June so if you've been thinking about it, now is the time to go! There's several parking spot in front of the cafe but if all of those spots are filled then there's a paid parking space, across the street. All the parking in the back of the building belong to the salon nextdoor, so don't risk being towed by parking there. We followed the instructions: booked it online on the website, choose the time and date for the visit. You have an hour inside the cat lounge, together with other groups that booked at the same time slot with you. They will give you shoe cover when walking into the cat lounge, so wear any kind of shoe you want. The reservation goes with a selection of tea or coffee that you can bring along into the lounge. We didn't take any drinks since we don't want to bring a drink around while hanging out with the cats. The staffs are very friendly and knowledgeable. It was my first time here and it was a lovely experience! There's plenty of cats to hang out with, and there're cat toys everywhere too. My reservation is at 3pm on a Sunday. Afternoon maybe nap time so half if the cats were sleeping or resting. Most cats are very sweet and

had a wonderful experience here with the cats. i would love to adopt but as a college student it’s sadly not allowed. this is a great option for people who can’t adopt to interact with cats and help socialize them. the space was a bit hectic the day we went in due to some new kitties being introduced to the space, but it was still a ton of fun. the coffee isn’t what we went for, but it was actually amazing! as someone who has volunteered in many cat shelters, a cat cafe is a much better experience for the cats to become sociable and have better chances of finding a home.

This is such a wonderful cat cafe! It was our first visit. The staff was friendly, and the kitties were just lovely. My 12 year old even had fun playing with the cats, and loving on them. The drinks were good as well, lots of options.

So many cats! Old ones, young ones, friendly ones, shy ones, sleepy ones, feisty ones... Java Cats is such a cute place. The 1 hour is a good deal because you get any caffeinated beverage included. There’s also wine, beer, and baked goods. They also have local art for sale at the front, as well as their own merchandise (super cute). The ladies that work here are always so friendly and sweet. If you are looking for a cat, ask them about adopting one that is living at the cafe! They also take donations, like cat beds, litter, toys, paper towels, etc.

Went to a bday party here and LOVED IT! So, the premise is you pay $7-$10 for an hour of playtime with these cute kitties up for adoption and a beverage comes with the visit. It is so clean, didn't "smell like cat" at all, and I'm a cat owner! So sanitary, I didn't even notice the liter boxes, I mean didn't get one whif! The staff is INCREDIBLY friendly! The lady who supervises the cat room was so personable and welcoming. I couldn't recommend supporting this local business AND good cause more! I LOVE this concept and look forward to future visits!
